In a move to prevent committed crimes against children, the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) has opted for the use of GPS technology to monitor the sex offenders who reside near the schools. Particularly Disneyland where a good number of sex offenders living is now a matter of concern for the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.



The CDCR acting on the mandate which directs sex offenders not to live at least one-half mile from schools has decided to utilize GPS technology supported MapQuest to monitor some 1,800 high sex offenders. The Department will provide 100 hand-held GPS devices to the officers to measure the distance. So that the CDCR can check the sex-offenders.
