Asian giant China now plans to introduce GPS supported navigation maps for transport and communication sector. These maps will be of multiple uses for the drivers. The drivers can access the GPS supported maps in their vehicles. Mobiles can also access digital maps.
Sun Yuguo, president of Beijing-based NavInfo Co Ltd says, ‘Quite a number of automobile producers, both domestic and international, will install our navigating map in their new models’. Other mobile phone manufacturers are also interested to work out on a strategy for the development of digital mapping.
A novice driver will get necessary information from the GPS supported maps about the destination. A 3D model accompanied by a voice will guide the drivers in reaching destination. Drivers can place their queries regarding the place. The map will provide multiple routes to the same destination. In addition to it, the digital maps will give information about the near by gas stations, hotels, supermarkets, and restaurants.
