Fujitsu has unveiled a GPS receiver with integrated RFID capabilities to offer the best of both GPS receivers & RFID worlds. The Tag Locator V2, which will hit shipyards soon at $169 a pop, is featured with the locating capabilities loved by us, assuring exact longitude & latitude measurements between “3 & 5 meters, plus is included with an active RFID tag that runs on the 429MHz frequency band.
Just the once, the GPS receiver brings out the location data, the Tag Locator V2 then comes in touch with the RFID info via “a unique ID,” and is able supposedly to channel its data to whichever reader within 200 meters.
