If you are a Spring Nextel subscriber you can ask your phone about the closest ATM or the Mexican restaurant. Spring Nextel ahs now started offering a local directory service where by using a global positioning system the user will be able to locate the specific directions to what lie nearby. The technology to Spring Nextel is provided by InfoSpace and the service is called, InfoSpace, Find It. The user however, has to shell out a monthly charge to avail the service. It would cost approximately $2.99 a month for unlimited searches. Now the service will be available to some select 25 handsets and will reach to approximately 30 million Spring Nextel subscribers.

Wow, the service is cheap even for South Asian people but now we can’t have it. I wonder why mobile phone companies do not start this kind of services in South Asia. After all, the real growht in mobile phone is taking place here.
