In Mississippi, the GPS technology helped the rescue corps to save more than 75 people. The street address was irrelevant there with street flooded and uprooted.
What was done was the conversion of the street addresses in GPS coordinates by a process called ‘Geocoding’
These coordinates were handed over to the rescue team who used it to locate the place and rescued the survivors.
This is the miracle of the technology that was developed for military applications helped to save so many lives.
