Mitac International, a primary OEM/ODM manufacturer of (GPS) global positioning system (PNDs) portable navigation devices in Taiwan, is going to deliver an anticipated one million such devices in the 3rd quarter. Mitac International, having Magellen, Pioneer and Medion as three major clients of GPS PND, looks forward to deliver four million GPS PNDs in the current year.
According to the related news, because of decreased R&D resources, Leadtek Research, an additional primary OEM/ODM manufacturer, is in danger of losing orders from its current client Alpine Electronics in 2007 because of decreased R&D resources.
However, Leadtek keeps on boasting of its business relation with existing clients that they are going stable and the company has also taken on an extra R&D members instead of those who have gone to leave the firm and that the latest R&D team is making latest models for 2007.
