With Brunswick Corporation decision to put its handheld navigation device operations for sale to Taiwan-based MiTAC International, a leading manufacturer of personal computers, servers and mobile telecommunications devices, the breakdown and sale of Navman seems to have approximately completed. Purchaser of the flourishing Auckland electronics in 2004, Brunswick, before this month, reported to have put the Navman marine instruments division for sale to Norwegian-based Navico International. Now Brunswick is on the lookout for a purchaser that can buy the third part of the Navman business - fleet management operations.

Besides being leader in manufacturing of personal computers, servers and mobile telecommunications devices, MiTAC is consisted of manufacturing plants in Taiwan and China, plus assembly centres in the US, UK, Belgium, Germany and Japan. Its products are sold all through the world. Brunswick has not provided any information of the terms of the MiTAC agreement.
