Nokia Corp. recently dived into the GPS market with the introduction of its first in-vehicle navigation device. The $500 Nokia 330 Auto Navigation unit is consisted with a 3.5-inch touchscreen integrating navigation & European map applications. The Nokia 330 is capable enough to play back audio & video instruction, though Nokia has not so far made a clean breast of the formats, in which it is to be.
Through the word, it is also not clear so far regarding the detail on what wireless connections the 330 backs up. Nokia is going to take on well-known and established GPS “satnav” manufactures, like Garmin Ltd. (Nasdaq: GRMN - message board) & TomTom comprising the latest box, which is anticipated to be accessible in Europe till the ending of the year. Not any word so far on if this product is going to make it stateside.
