Marking the 1st in-dash HDD-capable satnav in the Australian consumer market, Pioneer recently shipped out its AVIC-HD3 HDD-capable in-car satnav, which is integrated with first-rate navigation and audio/visual entertainment features in a dual DIN chassis. A 30-gigabyte hard drive provides better-quality navigation and advanced A/V entertainment capabilities comprising (Intelligent re-routing) and HDD Music Library (supporting the Gracenote(R) Music Recognition Service). The integrated Bluetooth wireless technology is claimed to allow cell phone handsfree operation (using Pioneer’s optional adaptor). Integrated with 7.0-inch touch screen display, the latest Pioneer AVIC-HD3 is also built-in with DVD Video; CD’s with Audio, CD-R/CD-RW, and MP3 files can be played. In addition, the stylish voice recognition makes it simpler and safer to make use of navigation, audio and attachment features even through driving. The map envelops the entire of Australia and consists of 97 per cent of the population. It also has iPod control (using Pioneer’s optional iPod adaptor). AVIC-HD3 is said to be rolled out in Australia in the month of June 2007.
