
The market is experimenting with smart vehicles which will use GPS to warn the driver of the upcoming vehicle, big pot holes on the road ahead and also avoid collision. This is in response to the promise of the intelligent transportation.
The GM is coming out with car in which if the car gets to close the other vehicle it will warn the driver. If the driver does not react then it will automatically apply the emergency brakes which will prevent the collision.
There is a development of the technology to take charge of the steering vehicle if the driver happens to be very careless.
This will help in preventing accidents.
A Chicago based firm called Navteq is coming out with a GPS enabled mapping system that tells the driver of the car of speed limits in the zone, hazards, sporting events, available parking, patches of black ice or rain and even potholes and nearby restaurants.
It needs to be seen how the technology can bring more of road safety
