Trimble, a primary supplier of highly developed positioning solutions, made an announcement of supplying (GPS) Global Positioning System reference stations and Virtual Reference Station (VRS) software to set up a nationwide GPS infrastructure network in Singapore.
Swathing the whole island-nation, the nationwide GPS infrastructure network will make geospatial infrastructure available for engineering, surveying and (GIS) Geographic Information System professionals. The VRS network makes geospatial professionals possible to benefit from greatly accurate Real Time Kinematic (RTK) GPS positioning but for the requirement of different software or base stations, appreciably growing productivity and efficiency.
As claimed by Trimble, the network provides RTK GPS (centimeter-level) data with an assortment of positioning applications comprising urban planning, environmental monitoring, surveying, construction, territory management and resource, scientific research disaster prevention and relief, transportation management, electricity distribution mapping and telecommunications.
